My ancestor from Buttenweisen was Tavis Einstein. She was married to Solomon Abraham probably from Oberndorf. Their son Amson Salomon (1743-1818) was born in Oberndorf and moved to Creglingen. They may have had more children. All the information I have about them comes from records in Creglingen.
Regarding the location. The person who originally told me the name of the town originaly wrote the town is Bodenwies (now Buttenwiesen) or Bodenmeiss Germany. There is no Bodenwies or Bodenmeiss. There is a Bodenmais near Nurnberg in Niederbayern, Bayern. I have made the assumption that it was probably Buttenweisen. I am not creating a page for Bodenmeiss.
The links to trees for Solomon Abraham, Tavis Einstein and Amson Salomon all go to the same tree.
Steinerne Zeugnisse jüdischen Lebens in Bayern: Eine Dokumentation by Israel Schwierz. Published in München in 1988 by the Bayerische Landeszentrale für Politische Bildungsarbeit. This book has a paragraph or more about each Jewish community in Bayern. The book is entirely in German. Buttenwiesen is discussed on pages 236 and 237. It is about half a page of text and includes a picture of the synagogue.
